God's People and America

Edmund Burke wrote, “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.” God's people can’t drop out of America. It’s impossible to think God would have ordained government and then told His people to stay out of it. Who else would that leave to run things?

So, what should we be doing? The greatest thing we can do for America is to pray for our land. If there were ever a need for prayer, this is the hour. It is hypocritical for us to carp about and criticize what is happening in our land unless we are being faithful prayer warriors. We need to confess our sins, turn from our wicked ways, and ask God to heal our land.

After we have prayed, we need to speak up and stand up for what is right. Let our speech be seasoned with salt as we openly stand upon the Rock and speak up for the Lord Jesus Christ and His righteousness. We must avoid the misguided zeal of extremists who try to bring in the kingdom of God by political machinations. The answers America needs will not come from politicians with personal agendas and axes to grind or from the arrogant, ungodly humanists and elitists who reject the Word of God.

The answers America needs will come from the people of God as they declare the Word of God and the God of the Word.
